What’s your favorite thing about 242?

The people are what make 242 so amazing. It’s a community of believers who are all going through the struggles of life whether it be college, a first job, a new marriage, etc. There is comfort in commonality and the fact that we share so many struggles is encouraging.

What’s on your iPod right now?

1,600 random songs of fun! No really, my music selection is extremely random. I have anything from Rascal Flatts, Jimmy Needham, Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Kutless, Incubus, Matt Nathanson, Wavorly and Death Cab 4 Cutie to Josh Groban and Michael Bolton. Shh, don’t tell anyone the Michael Bolton part ☺.

What part of 242 has impacted you the most and why?

In my opinion the retreats are unbeatable. You can’t beat a weekend in the woods with great friends and God! Every time I go on one I feel more comfortable, I learn more and I experience a deeper connection with my Lord and Savior.

What verse is God currently using in your life?

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17. The Lord continues to show me that He has a plan for my life that I need to let go of my own will and concentrate on His will for me. Tough concept sometimes but I know my God will not let me down ☺!

The best 242 social event is...

242 BARN PARTY because it is a boot-scootin’ good time! Ropin’ hay bales, BBQ food, country music, two-steppin’ and great friends make a rockin’ party!

Funniest 242 moment?

Too many to count but one comes to mind. It was the Valentine’s Banquet – February 2008 – and Megan and I had arranged for an event to be a relay race. Matt Browning and Ariel Lee went head to head (literally) bobbing for apples. They were soaked by the end of it and were not willing to go after the apples at the same time for fear their faces may touch. Who would’ve though that those two would forgo their competitiveness for anything?!

The same race highlighted Billy Moss and Dan De Jong sucking chocolate pudding through panty hose. Enough said!

Why is 242 different than other Christian groups?

242 is more than a Christian group, it is a close-knit group of friends who look out for each other, offer heartfelt advice and love unconditionally.

Tell us a little about yourself...

I am a December 2006 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Public Relations, minor in Business. I am the Communications Coordinator for Delta Dental of Kansas, which is my first job out of college. I have a fantastic family that includes a younger brother, Andrew. I get my neatness from my father and my “laugh-at-anything” personality from my mother. They’re the best!

If God had made you an animal, which one would you be and why?

He would have made me a lady bug. A sweet, mild-mannered creature that enjoys lovin’ on people even if uninvited ☺.
