What’s your favorite thing about 242?

The community! It has been so great for me to be surrounded by all these believers and brothers and sisters in Christ! It is a blessing for us to be surrounded by people our own age who may be going through similar struggles in life. We are given the opportunity to meet new people, hear great messages and testimonies, make lasting friendships, and do all this all while glorifying God.

What’s on your iPod right now?

My iPod is FULL of all the Relient K songs you can imagine! They are just my all time favorite!

What part of 242 has impacted you the most and why?

The retreats hands down! The retreats are SO wonderful for many reasons. It is such a blessing to be able to go out to these woods and leave all the thoughts and worries of our daily life behind. We have the whole weekend to refocus our attention on the most important thing, our relationship with Christ. The testimonies we hear, and our cabin devotionals are always amazing! They give us a chance to really get to know our fellow 242-ers' hearts. And finally, you meet SO many people! No matter how long you’ve been going to 242 you always leave these retreats knowing more people then you did coming in, and also leaving with deeper more meaningful relationships with the people you’ve already known. The retreats are overall just awesome!

What verse is God currently using in your life?

I feel like God is always using the forever famous Jeremiah 29:11 verse in my life. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  This verse is used every day over and over again in my life, especially at this age. There are so many times when I cannot figure out what I want with my life or what I want to do with my life or where to work. There are so many “big kid” questions we have to answer at this age, and it can sometimes be stressful when we focus so hard on making the right one. This verse has helped me to put my full faith and confidence in Christ and the plans he has for me.

The best 242 social event is...

The Barn Party because it is always a blast! Don’t get me wrong, all the events are awesome but the Barn Party is my favorite because I love to dance. It is so fun to see all your friends dancing and having a great time with each other. There are many people who invite friends to this event, which makes the barn party such a great outreach tool.

Funniest 242 moment?

I still laugh to this day about the time Randy told us that hysterical story of him getting road rage. I laughed so hard that night! Anytime I feel a little road rage coming on I immediately think, “What would Randy do?” And whatever my answer is, I the opposite! Haha! Only kidding Randy. I love you!

Why is 242 different than other Christian groups?

I think 242 is different than any other Christian groups I’ve experience because we are more then just a “group,” we are close friends. We love to get together outside of Thursday nights and enjoy each others company. These people from 242 show so much love to everyone and are so great at loving others for simply the person they are.

Tell us a little about yourself...

I graduated from WSU in May of 2009, and I am currently getting my masters at WSU for counseling. I aspire to be a high school counselor someday and then hopefully a stay at home mom. I have an amazing family and friends who love me very much and accept me for who I am. Likes: Kids, loving people, going clay pigeon shooting, and of course shopping. Dis-likes: Feet and spiders.

If God had made you an animal, which one would you be and why?

Haha, such a funny questions. I would be a duck. I would love to be able to fly and see the world from a whole different perspective. Ducks also get married, aka mate for life. I just think it’s precious to see a cute little boy and girl duck hanging out together and I always look at them and tell myself they’re married. Haha, how cute is that?! =)
