What’s your favorite thing about 242?

There are not many places/churches in Wichita or the surrounding area with a ministry geared towards the young professionals.  There are youth groups, some college groups, and singles ministries (which half the time are middle aged divorcees) – so it’s really nice to have somewhere to worship and fellowship with people in similar life situations.

If Doug Biggs and Nick Ireland got in a fight, who would win and why?

That’s a tough question…I think I might have to vote for Nick.  Would you really want to fight a guy who has no shame in wearing tights?

What’s on your iPod right now?

I’m actually listening to the Rolling Stones  right now.

What part of 242 has impacted you the most and why?

I love how everyone is not afraid to be real with one another.  I know it’s difficult to get to know so many people – but through bible studies and retreats, it’s been great getting to know the heart of people.  At a really difficult time in my life He brought me to 2:42 and I’ve never looked back.

What verse is God currently using in your life?

It should be verses – we’ve been going through the book of Matthew in my bible study group and it seems like every week – there’s a new verse that I find convicting.  It’s been nice to really take time and dissect the verses one by one to get the full meaning out of it.

The best 242 social event is...

To be completely honest – I’ve only been to a couple of 2:42 social events – the barn dance and the Valentine’s banquet.  Both were great to let loose and have fun!

Funniest 242 moment?

On the Fall 08 retreat – Saturday afternoon a group of us went to Sonic during freetime.  While we were there a girl dropped some money on the ground and Megan Munson tried to get her attention.  The first time was unsuccessful so she opened the car door and yelled “Hey! You girl!”  She then proceeded to jump out of the car and run up to this random person to tell her she dropped money.  It was definitely one of those you had to be there moments.

Why is 242 different than other Christian groups?

It pretty much goes back to the fact that it caters to the young professionals.

Tell us a little about yourself...

I grew up in Mulvane, KS with my parents and younger sister.  I graduated in 2002 and then went to college at Friends University for three years.  While there I pursued a Biology degree with a minor in Chemistry.  I also played the alto sax in the jazz department.  After my junior year, I decided to transfer to Wichita State University and start the Medical Technology program.  After the first semester at WSU, I decided to switch back to Biology.  I graduated WSU in 2007 with a B.S. in Biology, a minor in Chemistry, and an emphasis in Mathematics.  It was a long and difficult five years and I can praise God now for the trials in which I faced.  As far as my job goes – I manage a ski shop (The Slope) in Kansas.  I absolutely love my job, my boss, and my employees.  It is stressful at times, but to work in an industry I love is totally worth it.

If God had made you an animal, which one would you be and why?

Hmmm…well, you know that fight or flight term – I don’t have the flight aspect at all.  I will not run away from a difficult situation or a “scary” situation.  Sometimes that makes me just a little bit intense – so with that information I would probably have to choose a badger.  I know it’s completely random – but trust me, it fits.
