I love being surrounded by believers who I can relate to and are in the same stage of life as me.
What’s on your iPod right now?
A random assortment of praise and worship, country and workout tunes…
Fellowship. God’s people are the church not the building itself. I’ve made so many friendships that continually push me towards the Lord and what he has for my life.
I grew up in Augusta and really sought the Lord as to where he wanted me after I graduated from K-State. After looking at many options, He led me back to Wichita. 242 was literally an answer to my prayers. After coming back to the area, I was so hungry for a group/church to be involved. I just prayed for friends who were in the same stage of life as me. He heard my cry and within a month, a friend told me about “some group” at Eastminster he had thought about trying out. I went to 242 the next Thursday and have been going ever since. God is awesome!
What verse is God currently using in your life?
“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Psalm 139: 23-24
the Barn Party because…who doesn’t love dinner, hayrack rides and two-stepping?
Funniest 242 moment?
There are too many funny moments to count, but one probably would be Doug Biggs and Andrew “Wickha” Wickham bursting into the Valentine’s Banquet as Cupid and his sidekick. The tights and prancing definitely caught people by surprise. It was pretty hilarious.
First, we have an amazing man of God lead us, Randy Storms. He will shoot you straight and isn’t afraid to stand for truth. Secondly, 242 is filled with awesome people that love God and love each other. I felt so welcome here the first time I came.
I am a 6th and 7th grade teacher and track coach at Andover Middle School. I graduated from K-State in May ’07 and will finish my Masters Degree in Education at WSU in May of 2010. I have awesome parents who love the Lord and am the youngest of three kids.
If God had made you an animal, which one would you be and why?
He probably would have made me a Pterodactyl. Somehow on a trip with my church youth group in high school, I realized I could make this awful and realistic screeching noise that turned into a Pterodactyl impression.
