What’s your favorite thing about 242?

The snacks. Where else can I get my Sour Straw Fix and hear an inspirational message all in one place?

If Doug Biggs and Nick Ireland got in a fight, who would win and why?

Hmmm. Nick has the young legs, but Doug is the crafty veteran – he’s studied every punch Rocky’s ever thrown, and I’m pretty sure he owns the entire “Three Ninjas” trilogy on DVD. I’ll go Biggs in 12 rounds.

What’s on your iPod right now?

That’s irrelevant because I can’t find my headphones. I tossed my entire apartment the other day trying to find them. No dice.

What part of 242 has impacted you the most and why?

The friendships, definitely. I came back to Wichita in August of 2005 and didn’t really know anyone around the city. 242 didn’t just give me people to hang out with – it gave me the basis for several life-long friendships.

What verse is God currently using in your life?

Jeremiah 29:11- “I have a plan for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

The best 242 social event is...

softball because we have back-to-back Fall League championships!... wait. I mean the fellowship. And fun… in a non-threatening, recreational, non-competitive setting.

Funniest 242 moment?

Any time Nick Ireland dresses up in a costume

Why is 242 different than other Christian groups?

We’re about more than just Thursday nights. The verse we’re based off of (Acts 2:42) talks about breaking bread together, fellowship, teaching the scriptures, etc – a community of believers.

Tell us a little about yourself...

I grew up in Wichita, graduated from Wheaton College (Illinois) and magically found myself back here almost four years ago, getting set to begin a new chapter in life.

I love sports – basically whatever’s in season, but especially baseball. I root mostly for mediocre to bad teams (KC Royals, KC Chiefs, Milwaukee Bucks, Wichita State). I’ve finished second place in my fantasy baseball league three years in a row (Most guys think that’s neat...Most girls – not so much… yet I can name all eight kids from ‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’, which kind of redeems me in a weird way).

I go through stretches where I run a lot. Usually that coincides with the realization that I’m out of shape and am getting old (25).

On a related note, I like peanut butter M&M’s. A lot.

I have a three-year old Schnauzer named Bailey. At times I’m convinced she’s smarter than me. She has me trained pretty well.

That’s about it.

If God had made you an animal, which one would you be and why?

Can I say a T-Rex?
